27 years after its original release, insmouth‘s legendary debut album ‘3 D Freak Accelerator’ is going to hit the market again – for the first time on vinyl.
Available October 13 this is a true collector’s item. The deluxe vinyl edition, limited to 150 hand-numbered copies, pressed on Alien Green Splatter vinyl and featuring special vinyl mastering.
It is particularly symbolic that the record was produced at Rakamakafon, the factory that revived vinyl record manufacturing in Bulgaria after a hiatus of more than three decades.
Originally released on April 13, 1999, ‘3 D Freak Accelerator’ became one of the most iconic and best-selling Bulgarian metal albums. While the original visual concept has been preserved in this new edition, the design has not merely been restored by Visions of Doom — it finally does justice to the music of ‘3 D Freak Accelerator’.
Those who purchase the record will have the chance to find one of 15 authentic photos by Bulgaria’s leading rock photographer, Elena Nenkova, inside their copy—randomly distributed among the releases and signed by all five original members of Insmouth: Vihar, Milen, Stiff, Acho, and Itso.
Equally special are the six handwritten lyric sheets by Stiff for songs from the album— which are also randomly included in select copies.
‘3 D Freak Accelerator’ is a record that has left a lasting mark on the history of Bulgarian heavy music, and now it will finally be available on vinyl for fans and collectors.
