Although the words “adorable” and “grindcore” rarely find themselves in the same sentence, father/daughter duo SOCKWEB make them an unavoidable pairing.
Since Monolithic Records, the label-arm of metal community site The Monolith, revealed ‘Bullies Are Mean’ — a particularly punishing example of the Richmond, Indiana-based band’s take on grindcore — anticipation has been building for SOCKWEB‘s debut full-length album Werewolf.
For those who have been patiently waiting for news of Joanie “Bologna” Young and her dad, Adam “Blackula” Young, today is a good day.
Listen to ‘Bullies Are Mean’ here.
A release date of August 6th has just been announced for the release – as well as a raft of special guest appearances, foremost among which is Agoraphobic Nosebleed vocalist Katherine “Kat” Katz, one of Joanie’s favourite vocalists, in a song written specially for the collaboration.
