Guitarist Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns N’ Roses) has quit Rock Star Supernova. This has thrown some doubt on the super-project’s future… In other words, it remains to be seen if drummer Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), bass player Jason Newsted (Voivod, ex-Metallica) and new vocalist Lukas Rossi (ex-Cleavage) shall continue jamming together.

German power metallers Primal Fear have set “New Religion” as the title of their new album, due on August 31 via Frontiers Records. The CD shall contain 11 songs, some of them recorded with special guest appearances by Magnus Karlsson of Starbreaker, Kai Hansen of Gamma Ray and Simone Simons of Epica.

Lostprophets have finished writing songs for their new, fourth, as yet untitled album. The Welsh alternative rock sextet intends to start recording in May and June. The follow-up to last year’s “Liberation Transmission” is expected to surface sometime during the autumn.
