David Thomas, frontman for Cleveland experimental rock band PERE UBU, and formerly ROCKET FROM THE TOMBS, has died. The singer was 71.

The news of Thomas’ passing was shared on the band’s Facebook page.

The statement reads:

“David Thomas, June 14 1953 – April 23 2025.”

With the departure of vocalist Mike Vallely recently confirmed, BLACK FLAG have added three new members to their roster.

Now joining founding guitarist Greg Ginn in the iconic hardcore punk band are Max Zanelly (vocals), David Rodriguez (bass), and Bryce Weston (drums).
