Celtic Frost had to cancel their planned appearance at the Rock Hard Festival in Germany on June 3. This is because frontman Thomas Gabriel Fischer was rushed to hospital, suffering from acute kidney problems. He’s expected to be fit for the band’s performance this weekend at Sweden Rock.

Kasabian return on July 24 with a new download only single called Empire. The single is expected to feature on their forthcoming second album is which rumoured to be called British Legion or British Empire and is due out in September.

Mystic Circle have a new drummer. This is Astaroth. According to a message, posted at their official website: “After a long time search Mystic Circle found the right one behind the drum set. Astaroth gives the Mystic Circle material a much more brutal feeling then the old drummer.”

Muse have revealed the artwork from their eagerly awaited Black Holes and Revelations album which hits the shops on July 3. The Blood Brothers are to put out an EP in the near future. As yet untitled, this will include previously unreleased tracks, recorded during sessions for the ‘Crimes‘ album. The band have also been working on a new record, with co-producers Guy Picciotto and John Goodmanson.

Twisted Sister are to release an album of Christmas songs, all done in the inimitable band style, through the Razor & Tie label. However, due to recording commitments on this project, the band have had to cancel two UK shows, namely those in London (June 27) and Nottingham (28).

London band The*Ga*Ga*s have split up. However, vocalist/guitarist Tommy, drummer J Thomopoulos and bassist Toshi Ogawa are planning to start a new band.
