Italian gothic metal leaders Lacuna Coil are working on their first ever officialВ DVD. Due out by the end of the year, the still untitled effort is going to feature videos, concert footage and behined-the-scenes shots. Meanwhile, Cristina Scabbia and her boys are also writing stuff for the follow-up to 2006’s “Karmacode”.

Happy Mondays have revealed they’re in the midst of recording a new album. The British indie rock act is currently working on the follow-up to 2007’s “Unkle Dysfunktional” at Moulin Rouge Studio in Stockport, England. A title and tentative release date are yet to be announced.

Atlanta metal masters Mastodon have tapped Brendan O’Brien (a.o. AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Velvet Revolver) to produce their next album. The band is scheduled hit the studio this week to begin recording the follow-up to 2006’s “Blood Mountain”.
