Primus bassist Les Claypool is to release a new solo album next month. It’s called ‘Of Whales And Woe’, and is on the Prawn Song label.

Mars Volta guitarist Omar Rodriguez guests on the song ‘Especially In Michigan’, which is on the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album ‘Stadium Arcadium’. Produced by Rick Rubin, this is a double CD; the first one is called ‘Jupiter’ and the second has been named ‘Mars’.

Alice In Chains will be fronted by William DuVall, when they tour Europe in the Summer. A one-time member of AIC guitarist Jerry Cantrell‘s own band, DuVall has most recently been with Comes With The Fall.

David Gilmour of Pink Floyd performs April 4 at Radio City Music Hall in New York, where David Crosby and Graham Nash were guest performers. Gilmour‘s third solo album (his first in 22 years), “On an Island,” is a collection of songs and instrumentals that had its origins in Gilmour‘s 2002 London Festival Hall concerts.
