Nevermore are to play four European festival shows this Summer as a four-piece. This is because guitarist Steve Smyth is suffering from end stage kidney failure, the result of a congenital birth defect. The festivals in question are Italy’s Gods Of Metal, Germany’s Rock Hard, Sweden Rock, and Ireland’s Rock Fest Belfast.

Although nothing is yet confirmed, blabbermouth.net have reported strog rumours that Slayer are to headline a European version of the ‘Unholy Alliance Tour‘, which is about to hit America. Also being suggested for the bill are In Flames, Children Of Bodom, Lamb Of God and Thine Eyes Bleed.

The Black Crowes are to release an album called ‘The Lost Crowes’ in late August. It’s to feature unreleased songs recorded during sessions in 1993 and 1997. They’ve all been re-mixed for this double CD.

The Witch, who feature Cold members Scooter Ward and Sam McCandless, are about to start recording. As soon as the first track is finished, they’ll be posting it here.

The X-Fest, due to happen on June 6 in Athens, has been cancelled. The Greek promoters say poor ticket sales are to blame. The bill was to include Dio, In Flames, Trivium and Hatebreed.
