Today, June 1, The Beatles’ classic album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” celebrates its 40 birthday. To mark the event, some of Britain’s most prominent contemporary rock bands are re-recording the LP. Acts confirmed to take part in the tribute so far include a.o. Oasis, The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, The FrayВ and Razorlight.

Manowar shall release their next double live album, entitled “Gods of War Live” (view cover in the left), on July 6. The over two-hour-long recording features the entire setlist of the just-completed leg of the metal kings’ Demons, Dragons and Warriors Tour 2007.
