Slayer, Mastodon and Coheed And Cambria are among the latest names confirmed for the Carling Weekend Festival. Slayer, Mastodon, Less Than Jake and Taking Back Sunday will be in Leeds on August 25 and Reading on August 27. Coheed And Cambria and Jet play in Reading on August 26 and Leeds the next day.

Kid Rock has just filmed two shows in his town, Detroit. This is for a live DVD, due out later in the year.

Testament are teaming up with Onslaught and Xentrix to play Bradford Rio’s on June 3. The previous day, Testament are in London, at the Islington Academy.

Slayer‘s Tom Araya has had a minor gallbladder operation. But this does mean that the start of the ‘Unholy Alliance’ US tour, headlined by Slayer, has been postponed until June 10. Also on the bill are Lamb Of God, Children Of Bodom and Mastodon.
