Mastodon have posted their version of Metallica’s ‘Orion’ at www.myspace.com/mastodon. This is the finished version, as compared to what is said to be the unmastered cut that appeared on the recent ‘Remastered’ album, the 20th anniversary tribute to the ‘Master Of Puppets’ record, put together by Kerrang! magazine.

Dallas band Fair To Midland have signed to Serjical Strike, the label run by Serj Tankian of System Of A Down. Tankian himself is expected to produce the band’s new album.

All That Remains are to release new album, ‘The Fall Of Ideals‘, in June. Produced by Adam Dutkiewicz, this’ll be on the Prosthetic label.

Disturbed will now play two shows at London’s Astoria on their UK tour later in the year. The new list of dates is Newcastle Carling Academy September 29, Manchester University October 2, Nottingham Rock City 4, Liverpool Carling Academy 7, London Astoria 9/10. Support comes from Nevermore.

Extreme, one of the biggest bands of the late 1980s, are to re-form for a show in their home town, Boston, on June 30. The line-up is Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Pat Badger (bass) and Paul Geary (drums).

The Southport lads Gomez release their new long-player ‘How To Operate’ on May 29, which will be preceded by the single ‘Girlhshapedlovedrug’ a week earlier. The band then play a nine date jaunt around the UK in June.
