German power metallers Primal Fear have set “New Religion” as the title of their new album, due on August 31 via Frontiers Records. The CD shall contain 11 songs, some of them recorded with special guest appearances by Magnus Karlsson of Starbreaker, Kai Hansen of Gamma Ray and Simone Simons of Epica.

Guitarist Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns N’ Roses) has quit Rock Star Supernova. This has thrown some doubt on the super-project’s future… In other words, it remains to be seen if drummer Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), bass player Jason Newsted (Voivod, ex-Metallica) and new vocalist Lukas Rossi (ex-Cleavage) shall continue jamming together.

Swedish metallers EvergreyВ have officially parted ways with bassist Fredrik Larsson – only nine months after he was recruited as the replacement for Michael Hakansson, who, on the other hand, left in order to join HammerFall. Apart from that, Evergrey are working on the follow-up to 2006’s “Monday Morning Apocalypse”, due later in the year.
