San Francisco-based doom metallers Asunder are currently putting the finishing touches to their upcoming full-length album with legendary producer Billy Anderson (Melvins, Mr. Bungle, Cathedral). Currently, the tentative title for this monument is Works Will Come Undone. The album should enshroud the light around mid-late September.

Brutal Truth, Raging Speedhorn, Watch Them Die and Alabama Thunderpussy are all featured on ‘For The Sick – A Tribute To Eeyehategod’. This is due out later in the year on Emetic Recordings.

Slayer have now been confirmed for the Carling Weekend Festival, which happens in Reading and Leeds from August 25-27.

Euro power metalheads Firewind are to release their new album in July. It’s to be called вЂAllegiance’. A single, вЂFalling To Pieces’, precedes this in June. The latter is to include a cover of Blackfoot’s вЂTeenage Idol’.

According to blabbermouth.net, VРѕcalist Messiah Marcolin has left Candlemass. Apparently, there were musical disagreements between the singer and the rest of the band over the new album. More soon.

The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower are to release an EP called вЂINRI’ on May 9. This will be on the Art Fag label.

‘Visceral Darkwavers’ NFD are to release their second album on June 5. Called ‘Dead Pool Rising’, it’ll be on the Jungle label.

W.A.S.P. have a new drummer. He’s Larry Howe of Vicious Rumors, who replaces Stet Howland for the band’s upcoming tour.

Cannibal Corpse are to re-issue their classic album ‘The Bleeding’ through Metal Blade on June 19. This will include one extra audio track, a cover version of Possessed’s ‘The Exorcist’, plus the video clip for ‘Staring Through The Eyes Of The Dead’.

Desmond Child is to produce the new album from the Scorpions. Expect this to be released early in 2007.
