Legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen and drummer Patrick Johansson are reportedly scheduled to go into Malmsteen’s Miami, Florida studio next month to begin recording demos for the next YNGWIE MALMSTEEN’S RISING FORCE album. Doogie White (ex-RAINBOW) will once again handle the lead vocals on the CD, which is expected to surface in early 2007.

NEVERMORE frontman Warrel Dane is collaborating with former SOILWORK guitarist Peter Wichers on material for Dane‘s first solo album. The CD is expected to include an appearance by Warrel‘s former SANCTUARY (pre-NEVERMORE) bandmate Dave Budbill (currently in ZEROCREEP) on drums. No information is presently available regarding the album’s musical direction or possible release date.

SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor joined SOULFLY on stage earlier today (Saturday, June 24) in Belgium for a rendition of the SOULFLY “classic” “Jumpdafuckup“. Guitarist Olav Kristiseter of the Norwegian extreme metallers MANNGARD is planning on releasing his debut novel through a well-known Norwegian publisher later in the year. MANNGARD re-released their debut album, “Circling Buzzards“, in February via Nocturnal Art Productions/Candlelight Records.
