Aussie punks The Living End have signed a North American label deal with Adeline, which is partly owned by Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong. As a result, he band’s new album, ‘State Of Emergency’, is to be issued in the US and Canada in July.

Former UFO guitarist Paul Chapman has teamed up with ex-MSG singer Robin McAuley and Doro drummer Johnny Dee in a new, as yet unnamed project. The trio have been recording new versions of classic UFO songs from Chapman’s time in the band.

‘Coachella: The Film’ is to be released on DVD on June 19. It features performances filmed at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival over the past six years. Included are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pixies, The Mars Volta, plus Iggy & The Stooges. There’s also more than hour of bonus interview footage.

Ontario band Hostage Life have signed a deal with Household Name for the UK/Europe. Their first release will be the EP ‘Sing For The Enemy’, due out on May 22.

System Of A Down have announced that they’re to take a lengthy break, following their headlining stint on this year’s US Ozzfest tour. The band are not splitting up, but it may be a few years before we see them again.

Soil have now confirmed three club shows in the UK,in addition to their appearance at the Download Festival. These happen at London Camden Underworld June 7 (with Clutch and Blindside), Southend Chinnery’s 8, Edinburgh Studio 24 11.
