According to unconfirmed reports, Velvet Revolver – and former Guns n’ Roses – bassist Duff McKagan will join the re-formed Alice In Chains for their Summer tour of the UK and Europe. This will be as a second guitarist.

US thrash-core act Lamb Of God have completed their drum tracks at Spin Studios in Long Island City, NY. Produced by Machine and engineered by Josh Wilbur, the band is working on a forthcoming Epic Records release while also gearing up for their upcoming tour as opening on Slayer‘s Unholy Alliance tour.

The Who have revealed they intend to release a mini-album this June. The release, titled ‘The Glass Household’, based on Pete Townshend‘s ‘The Boy Who Heard Music’, will last just eleven minutes, and precedes a full-length album planned for the Autumn.

Bright Eyes is eyeing a spring 2007 release for its next Saddle Creek studio album. The three-person crew, whose current incarnation includes leader Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott, has tapped artists like Gillian Welch, Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss and M. Ward to contribute to the as-yet-untitled set.
