System Of A Down have announced that they’re to take a lengthy break, following their headlining stint on this year’s US Ozzfest tour. The band are not splitting up, but it may be a few years before we see them again.

Soil have now confirmed three club shows in the UK,in addition to their appearance at the Download Festival. These happen at London Camden Underworld June 7 (with Clutch and Blindside), Southend Chinnery’s 8, Edinburgh Studio 24 11.

White Stripes singer Jack White and his wife Karen Elson are celebrating the birth of their first child, a baby girl.The Detroit Free Press reports that Scarlett Teresa was born on Tuesday in Tennessee, where the couple live.The singer-guitarist’s side project, The Raconteurs, release their debut album next week.
