Foo Fighters are among the artists contributing cover songs to a massive compilation celebrating the 40th anniversary of UK’s BBC Radio 1. The set will feature a total of 40 songs, or one from each year of the station’s existence.
Dave Grohl & Co., who are about to release their sixth album, “Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace”, on September 25, have recorded a version of Wings’ classic “Band on the Run”. Other highlights include Franz Ferdinand doing David Bowie’s “Sound and Vision”, Keane attempting at Queen’s “Under Pressure”, The Raconteurs taking on The Undertones’ “Teenage Kicks”, plus The Fray, Amy Winehouse, Kaiser Chiefs, Corinne Bailey Rae and others.
