Universal Music has set a November 9 German release date for the debut solo album from former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen, entitled “My Winter Storm”. A single, “I Walk Alone”, will precede the album in mid-October. The CD will feature a guest appearance by ANGRA guitarist Kiko Loureiro.
NIGHTWISH’s final recording with Turunen, the “End of an Era” live DVD and CD, entered the German chart at a No. 3 and was certified gold in Finland the day after its release.
“NIGHTWISH fired Turunen via an “open letter,” which was given to the singer immediately following the Helsinki show. The group has since found a replacement vocalist, Swedish singer Anette Olzon, and is preparing to release the follow-up to 2004’s “Once” in September.
