Exhibition Planned To Mark 30th Anniversary of Punk

A major exhibition has been planned to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the punk explosion.

‘Panic Attack: Art in the Punk Years’ will be held at the Barbican Centre in London next year.

It will feature classic album artwork by the likes of The Clash and the Sex Pistols and runs from June 7 to September 9.

A Barbican spokesperson told the Beeb: “Punk is most closely associated with music, fashion and graphics, but it can also be seen as part of a much broader cultural episode.

Panic Attack” looks at British and American art of this time, much of which is informed by the same spirit of iconoclasm which characterises punk.”
