This is the cover of the new REFUSED album. It’s called Freedom and is due out June 30 via Epitaph. There will be a limited edition release featuring a 28-page hardbound book with a poster and gold foil stamping on the album cover.
“It’s not a reunion anymore,” Dennis Lyxzén said in a statement titled “Refused Are Fucking Alive.” “This is one of the most radical things we’ve ever done, both musically and lyrically…”
“Nobody wanted us to fuck with the image of the band who makes a great album and splits up,” added drummer David Sandström. “Nobody wanted us to dilute it. That actually provoked us.”
Here’s the album’s opening cut, Elektra. It was produced and co-written by Shellback, a Swedish pop superproducer who co-wrote Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and Britney Spears’ If U Seek Amy:
