John Lennon’s Killer Remains in Prison

Yesterday, August 12, John Lennon’s killer Mark David Chapman was denied parole again, after a board concluded he is still dangerous. The denial was the fifth since 2000 for Chapman, who has been in prison for 27 years for the murder of the former Beatle outside the Dakota Building in New York City in December 1980.

Chapman, now 53, will remain incarcerated at New York’s Attica Correctional Facility for at least two more years, after the parole board decided they were concerned for the public’s safety and welfare. He will appear before the parole board again in August 2010.
