Former Deep Purple keyboard mastermind Jon Lord will release “The Durham Concerto” on CD on January 28, 2008 via UK’s Avie Records.
The lord goes about a musical piece performed by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Mischa Darmev at the Durham Cathedral in England on October 20. Except for composing it, Jon took part in the performance as a soloist playing Hammond.
The concerto was commissioned to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Durham University.
