KORN’s Munky Issues MONSTER IN THE MACHINE’s Debut

The LA-based trio Monster in the Machine will release its debut album, “Butterfly Pinned”, on July 10 (online) and August 21 (retail) through Emotional Syphon Recordings – the recor label founded last year by Korn’s guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer.

Described as modern rock with “swirling acoustic melodies and haunting, hypnotic electronics”, Monster in the Machine’s CD was recorded in a line-up featuring mastermind Shannon Crawford (vocals, guitar, keyboards; ex-Cellophane), bass player Douglas Ardito (Puddle of Mudd, ex-Cellophane) and drummer Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails.). Munky himself played guitar on the song “Don’t”, while Imani Coppola contributed violins on “Shut the Door”.

Another track off “Butterfly Pinned”, “Savior”, can be listened to at www.myspace.com/monsterinthemachine.
