Icelandic post-punk minimalists Sigur Ros will release a double CD and a DVD on November 6.
The audio effort is entitled “Hvarf/Heim” (meaning “Disappeared/Home”) and consists of unreleased (disappeared) songs plus live acoustic versions of tracks from all four Sigur Ros studio albums recorded in Iceland (home).
As for the DVD, its title is going to be “Heima” (“At Home”), and it’s going to feature a series of free concerts the Icelandic band played in their homeland during in the summer 2006, including performances inside a herring oil tank in the West Fjords and a one-mic recording at a dam protest camp…
