On May 12, 2008 the Backstage Club in Sofia, Bulgaria shall be shattered by the minimalist noise rock of Shellac.
For those who’re not familiar – and we’re sure there’s tons of them – Shellac is a Chicago-based trio formed around 1990. During the years they’ve managed to release four albums – “At Action Park” (1994), “Terraform” (1998), “1000 Hurts” (2000) and “Excellent Italian Greyhound” (2007) – and their line-up features Todd Trainer (drums and vocals; ex-Breaking Circus, Rifle Sport), Bob Weston (bass and vocals; ex-The Volcano Suns, Mission of Burma) and – attention! – Mr. Steve Frank Albini on guitars and vocals.
That’s right – on May 12 Sofia shall be visited by Steve Albini’s band! The American musician and producer has worked on almost 2,000 albums, a.o. by Page & Plant, Neurosis, The Stooges, Pixies, PJ Harvey, Bush, Cheap Trick and, most of all, “In Utero” by Nirvana.
Tickets are limited to 200 and cost 8 Euro. Get them by dropping us a line at office@radiotangra.com.
