Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton told WZLX-FM’s Carlson & McKenzie on Wednesday (April 5) that frontman Steven Tyler‘s throat had an “overuse injury…like tendonitis” that forced them to cancel shows.
“He had this minor, minor, minor [surgery] done and it went really well,” Hamilton told the morning men.
Despite this setback, Aerosmith plan to return to the road before the end of the year — possibly in the fall — for a a few months. “[Steven] is dying to get back out there and prove himself again which is really what he’s all about,” Hamilton said. “In the meantime, we’re gonna see how much of a record we can get done before we go back out.”
