Supernova, which is in the process of searching for a singer via the CBS show “Rockstar,” will play its first live show on New Year’s Eve at the Joint in Las Vegas. A five-week North American tour will follow, beginning Jan. 16 in Hollywood, Fla.
The lead vocalist for the band, which is comprised of drummer Tommy Lee, guitarist Gilby Clarke and bassist Jason Newsted, will be selected during the Sept. 13 episode of the show.
Quickly afterward, Supernova will get busy in the studio with producer Butch Walker to record its debut album, due Nov. 21 via Epic. Fans who preorder the album via the band’s Web site will receive an exclusive DVD well ahead of street date.
