Philip Chevron – the lead guitar player for the English-Irish folk/punk rock masters The Pogues – has been diagnosed with locally advanced throat cancer.
The musician will not be present for the band’s European summer shows and the US tour in October and November and, according to The Pogues’ official homepage, “Though it is not yet known when Chevron will return to live work, it is hoped that he will again be available towards the end of this year.”
Get well soon, Phil…
