Guitar virtuoso Gary Moore will join drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox – the same Jimi Hendrix Experience rhythm section that played Woodstock – to perform a selection of Jimi Hendrix songs on October 25 at the Hippodrome in London. The gig will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the late guitarist’s show at the Monterey International Pop Festival.
At the same time, however in the USA, the Experience Hendrix Tour is going to start. Launching October 16, the shows will feature an all-star line-up consisting of a.o. Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox plus blues giant Buddy Guy, pedal steel virtuoso Robert Randolph, contemporary guitar great Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Corey Glover from Living Colour, The Doors’ guitarist Robby Krieger, The Rolling Stones veteran Mick Taylor, the Mississippi-born guitarist Hubert Sumlin, Chris Layton, Tommy Shannon, Doyle Bramhall, Kenny Olson, Memphis guitar icon Eric Gales and more.
The tour is produced by Experience Hendrix, LLC – the Hendrix family company entrusted with preserving and protecting the legacy of the late guitarist – and is sponsored by Gibson Guitars.
