TRENT REZNOR Gets Golden Globe Nomination

If you’re a film buff, you’re probably already aware that the nominees for the 2011 Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning. If you’re not up on your movie news, now you know.

What hopefully won’t get lost amidst all the news stories about the seven nominations The King’s Speech got is that Trent Reznor‘s score for Facebook flick The Social NetworkВ (details) has been nominated for best original score in a motion picture.

Reznor and English composer Atticus Ross (who co-wrote the score) are up against previous winner A.R. Rahman’s (Slumdog Millionaire) score for 127 Hours, Danny Elfman’s music for Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, Hans Zimmer’s score for Inception and, yes, the dude who wrote the music for The King’s Speech, Alexander Desplot.

Reznor’s nomination isn’t the only one The Social Network got. It also received five other nods, including best director, actor, screenplay, and supporting actor.

The Golden Globe Awards will be handed out Jan. 16 in Beverly Hills, Calif.
