Former UFO guitarist Paul Chapman has teamed up with ex-MSG singer Robin McAuley and Doro drummer Johnny Dee in a new, as yet unnamed project. The trio have been recording new versions of classic UFO songs from Chapman’s time in the band.

German metalcore crew Heaven Shall Burn are currently finishing up their new, as yet untitled album. Expect a release later in the year.

Arkansas metalcore crew The Handshake Murders have signed to Goodfellow Records. The five-piece will release their first album for the label in January.

Devildriver are to re-relaese their album, ‘The Fury Of Our Maker’s Hand’, on Hallowe’en (October 31). This will come with bonus tracks and DVD footage.

System Of A Down have announced that they’re to take a lengthy break, following their headlining stint on this year’s US Ozzfest tour. The band are not splitting up, but it may be a few years before we see them again.

Soil have now confirmed three club shows in the UK,in addition to their appearance at the Download Festival. These happen at London Camden Underworld June 7 (with Clutch and Blindside), Southend Chinnery’s 8, Edinburgh Studio 24 11.
