Last night, September 7th, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry from AEROSMITH, along with YUNGBLUD, and Nuno Bettencourt from EXTREME, performed an Ozzy Osbourne tribute medley of ‘Crazy Train’ / ‘Changes’ / ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ at The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards from New York’s UBS Arena.
Ozzy’s long-standing and storied MTV history spans Headbanger’s Ball in the ’80s, Battle for Ozzfest, and groundbreaking reality TV series The Osbournes, to name a few. He was honored with the prestigious MTV EMA’s Global Icon Award in 2014. Later this year, Paramount+ will debut the feature-length documentary, Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now.
Osbourne died at his home in Buckinghamshire, England on July 22, 2025, aged 76 – a mere 17 days after the Back To The Beginning farewell concert. The cause of death was ruled as a heart attack, with Parkinson’s Disease listed as an associated factor.
