Mike D has been making moves. This spring, the BЕASTIE BOY hopped onstage twice with his children’s band, then announced some shows of his own, then released the solo singles ‘Switch Up’ and ‘What We Got.’
There were also postcards and a website with the name Mike D 5D. You knew an album announcement was coming, and now it has.
The album is called Thank You. He’s releasing it in August under the name Mike D 5D. It will be his debut solo album and his first album since the BЕASTIE BOYS‘ 2011 finale Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, though he’s done guest spots with CASSIUS (alongside Cat Power) and PUBLIC ENEMY (alongside Ad-Rock and RUN-DMC) and produced an album for the band now known as SOFT PLAY.
